Kitara Tales seeks to:
Objectives
- Advancement of education – To advance the education of local people and the education and training of asylum seekers and refugees and their dependants in order to assist their inclusion into the wider community, including the promotion of African culture.
- Relief of poverty, sickness and distress – To relieve poverty, sickness and distress among refugees and asylum seekers from African countries living in Manchester through the provision of, but not by way of limitation, free and confidential advice, assistance, representation, advocacy, translation and interpretation services in matters relating to asylum, immigration, welfare, health, education, housing and employment.
- Conservation and environmental protection – To promote conservation and environmental protection education amongst asylum seekers and refugees in Manchester.

To preserve for our future generations, the cultural heritage of the Kitaran peoples of East Africa (Uganda).
-Record, disseminate knowledge of and promote Kitaran cultures.
-To train volunteers to undertake social research and uncover aspects of Kitaran cultures
